Joan S. Barthelmann (Scheible)

Hilton, NY - Joan passed away peacefully on November 2, 2018 at the age of 82. Joan is predeceased by her husband, Fred W. Barthelmann Jr. She is survived by devoted son, Fred (Maria); beloved granddaughter, Dallas; step-grandsons, Christian and Ian; sister, Merle Weiss; niece and nephew, Robin Weiss and Alan Weiss; cousins and friends.

Born and raised in Rochester, NY, Joan graduated from Charlotte High School. She married Fred in May 1956 at the young age of 20. Joan enjoyed time with family and friends sharing a good card game of Euchre and Gin together with cocktails. Joan was a supportive mother cheering Fred on during his swimming events while Dad kept record of his times. Later in life, she found her calling as a grandmother. She especially loved her time with Dallas going to the arcade, shopping and sleep overs. She prided herself in being independent right to the end and now is peacefully reunited with her husband and friends.

Friends and family are invited to Celebrate Joan's Life with a Memorial Service held on November 17, 2018 at 11 AM at Hope Lutheran Church, 1301 Vintage Lane, Rochester, NY. A private family Service will be held and Joan will be laid to rest at Riverside Cemetery in Rochester.
