John O. Noble Jr. PhD

Dracut, MA - After a long illness at home on Thursday, March 21, 2019 in Dracut, MA. Predeceased by his parents, John and Eileen. Survived by his husband, Jeffrey Baumert; brothers, James (Marcia) and Joseph (Sheila); nieces and nephews, Todd, Shawn, Scott, Sarah, Jacob, Jimmy and Melanie.

Graduated with his PhD in early American History from the University of Maine. John was a retiree of the City of Rochester serving as the city's archivist for over 20 years. Served was adjunct professor for SUNY Brockport for years. He was active politically serving as the NYS Democratic Committeman for District 134 for 20 years as well as running for several offices in the Town of Greece. He was active in the gay community as well as serving as a board member for the Gay Alliance of the Genesee Valley and helping with the Shoulders to Stand On and Out Alliance Archives. He was a member of ARMA for many years.

Friends may call Thursday, March 28, 2019 4-7PM at Farrell-Ryan Funeral Home, 777 Long Pond Rd. Friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service 10AM Friday at the funeral home. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers friends wishing may contribute to Out Alliance Archives, 100 College Ave., Rochester, NY 14607.
