Tracy Farnand

Tracy Anne Farnand

October 4, 1956 – February 19, 2023

Tracy Farnand, age 66, of Rochester, NY, passed away on February 19, 2023 after a 5-month battle through complications after receiving a double lung transplant at Cleveland Clinic.

Tracy was born on October 4, 1956 to Bill and Bernice Burns in Rochester, NY. After Tracy graduated from Cardinal Mooney High School in 1974, she went to Eastman Dental School to be a dental assistant.

In 1975, Tracy met the love of her life, Richard Farnand, while working together at the JoMor Stoneridge Theater. Tracy and Richard went on to have two children, Brianna and Brady. Tracy and Richard enjoyed 43 years of marriage.

Tracy worked at many dental offices throughout her career as a dental assistant, finally retiring as an Office Manager with Dr. Robert Weis.

In 2011, Tracy retired and lived the dream as a Sarasota Florida snowbird, where she enjoyed sunsets on the beach with her husband, shopping, swimming/lounging in the pool, making new friends, listening to live music, volunteering, being a Parrot Head, and visits from friends and family. She enjoyed the summer months in Rochester, doting on her grandchildren and children, being with family, and getting together with lifelong friends, with her husband by her side. Tracy also loved puzzles, cooking, and chocolate. She enjoyed traveling all over the world, especially visiting family in Canada.

After years of tests and doctors visits, Tracy was diagnosed with COPD. In 2022, she was approved for a double lung transplant at Cleveland Clinic. On September 29th, she received the call that matching lungs were available and the surgery was performed the next day. Unfortunately, many complications developed after the surgery and Tracy spent her remaining days under the tremendous care of the ICU staff at Cleveland Clinic. After five months of valiantly battling through many challenges in the ICU, with the unwavering support of her family and friends, Tracy passed on with her loving daughter, son, and husband at her side.

Tracy was predeceased by her parents Bill & Bernice Burns, and her in-laws Emmet & Claire Farnand. She is survived by her loving husband, Richard Farnand; children Brianna Bennett (Brian) and Brady Farnand (Nicole); and her 5 grandchildren; Jackson, Madison, Camden, Declan, and Kinley; siblings Terry Burns (Cheryl), Kim Gagie (Jim), Bill Burns (Dawn), Amy King (Scott) and sister-in-law Barbara Maine (Don).
