Arlene H. (Long) Bettin
Rochester - March 9, 2018, at age 95. Arlene was born in Rochester on Christmas Day, December 25, 1922 to the late Robert and Sophia (Streb) Long. Predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Jack William Bettin. Survived by her "3 best boys", and daughters-in-law, Jack Robert and Katherine, Kenneth and Vera, Robert and Marlene Bettin; her 13 grandchildren, Jack (Michelle), Suzzi Peeler (Jared), Peggy (Pete Hamilton) and Tommy (Mairi) Bettin, Foster, Sofia, Bianca, Ian and Samantha Bettin and Robby, Julia, Christina and Steven Bettin; also 3 great-grandchildren, Owen, Graham and Cora. Arlene is also survived by her nephew and nieces and predeceased by her brothers, Robert and Leon and sister, Lucille. Arlene was a dedicated and proud mother and homemaker. She greeted the world with an infectious smile, laugh and quick wit. Arlene was highly intelligent, drop-dead gorgeous and proud to do her part as a Rosie the Riveter in WW II. She loved cards, golf, bowling, ping pong, the jitterbug and...winning! This sweet, pip of a woman, who loved and shared her chocolate covered peanuts with all who came to visit, will be sorely missed! Who will tease me and give me a hard time anymore, ask her neighbors, friends and caretakers. No one will come close to the fun-loving engagement of Arlene Bettin who lived fully into her 95th year with the loving care of Dr. Robb and staff, Mary and Char. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
