Carmella Palozzi

July 24, 1922 — November 14, 2015

Palozzi, Carmella L.

(Meli)

Greece: On Saturday, November 14, 2015 at the age of 93 the spirit of our beloved mother and grandmother was delivered into the arms of her heavenly Father. Predeceased by her parents, Joseph & Lucia and her husband, August Leucio Palozzi. Survived by her children: daughter, Lucille (Daniel) Leiske and son, Anthony (Margaret) Palozzi; her grandchildren, Matthew, Anthony, Jeffrey, Mary Margaret and Adrianna Marie; nieces, nephews and friends.

Carmella was a lifelong resident of Rochester and the cherished matriarch of the Palozzi family. A graduate of East High School, Carmella dedicated her work to managing her father's former business, Meli's Grocery of North Street.

The daughter of Italian immigrants, she had a never ending love for her parents and often shared her happy memories of their time together with friends and family.

Carmella was a longtime parishioner of Our Lady of Mercy and had a lifelong devotion to our Blessed Mother. She loved gathering her children and grandchildren for Thursday night pasta dinners; filled with laughter, love and Carm's great cooking! Carmella was most happy when surrounded by her greatest love, her family.

A special thank you to Carmella's care takers at HCR and her Legacy family.

Friends may call Tuesday 4-8 at the funeral home, 777 Long Pond Road (between English & Latta). Funeral Mass, Wednesday 9:30 at Our Mother of Sorrows Church. Entombment, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
