On July 10th, 2019, Charles “Chuck” Arthur Wolter, Sr. of Golden, CO passed away peacefully at the age of 64. He spent his last hours with his loving wife Rev. Dr. Tisa Anders and loyal dog Max at his side at Porter Hospice in Centennial, CO following a courageous battle with cancer. Chuck will be remembered for his hearty laugh, but even more so for his big heart. Chuck loved football, history, games, cards, movies and books—but most of all, he loved his family.
Charles Arthur Wolter was born August 26th, 1954 in Minneapolis, MN at Swedish Hospital, the son of South Dakota natives Rev. Gerald Arthur Wolter and Helen Georgene Holt Wolter. In 1964, the Wolter family moved from Minneapolis to the small college town of Houghton, NY. Chuck often shared fond memories of this idyllic childhood setting. In January 1968, the family moved to Andover, NY. Chuck graduated from Andover Central High School in June 1972. Chuck attended Wheaton College (IL) where he met his first wife, Nancy Johnson. To this marriage were born three children: Christine Joan, Charles Arthur, Jr., and Stephanie Helen. Chuck had a colorful career, from owning a 7-Eleven store in the Chicago area and a flower business in Buffalo, to doing contract work utilizing his computer expertise, and finally enjoying a book business career in Colorado.
Chuck will be dearly missed by his wife, Rev. Dr. Tisa Anders, his children Christine (Nick) Vuono, Charles (Lindsay Truesdell) Wolter, Jr., Stephanie (Christopher) Agostinelli, his granddaughter Laura Vuono, his parents Rev. Gerald and Helen Wolter, his sisters Elisabeth (Benito) Martinez, Lois (Laurence Brown) Wolter, Laura (Norman) Moulton, nieces, nephews and a host of long-time friends.
Memorial services will be held in Golden, Colorado in July, and in Rochester, NY at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 4115 Dewey Avenue, Rochester, NY 14616 on Thursday, August 8th at 2:00 PM.
Our homes will no longer vibrate with the loud football cheers or contagious laughter of our dear Chuck, but our hearts will always hold a piece of the love that he shared with us.
