Delmar Earl Leach went home to be with the Lord and the love of his life, Mary.
Del is survived by his treasured family: sons Michael, Thomas (Yvonne Pensgen), Daniel (Patricia) and Peter (Colleen), and daughters MaryEllen (Ford - Timothy), Patrice (Wells - Scott), Aileen, and Anne; his brother Gordon, sister-in-law, MaryAnne and sister-in-law Kathrine Ignatowski, many nieces, nephews and 32 grandchildren & 36 great-grandchildren.
Del was a Veteran of the US Air Force and US Air Force reserve. In 1953, he joined the Rochester Police Department where he steadily rose through the ranks. After his tenure as Chief of the RPD, Del became a Professor of Criminal Justice at Monroe Community College.
Throughout his exceptional career, along with his many accomplishments, he was most proud of his family.
Friends may call 3-7pm Monday April 24th at Farrell-Ryan Funeral & Cremation services 777 Long Pond Road. Funeral Mass 10:00am Tuesday April 25th at St. Johns Church (Greece). Interment Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
