Diane Noel Gosnell, 76, passed peacefully at her home on Thanksgiving Day in Greece, New York.
Diane’s career at General Railway Signal in Rochester, NY spanned more than 25 years and grew from quality control to transit scheduling to project management upon retirement. Her retirement years were filled with sewing and crafting – always turning nothing into something beautiful or useful or both. Because of her boundless energy, Diane went on to work in an investment office and at Wegman’s as a meal coach. Wegman’s led to a passion for cooking, something she also took on the road during her many travels with Doug to visit family and friends.
Diane is survived by her loving husband of 39 years, Douglas K. Gosnell of Greece NY, twin brother Richard (Sandra) Milroy of Fort Mohave AZ, sister Cheryl (Keith) Suddaby of Fallbrook CA; daughter Wendy Stock of Gates NY, daughter Laurie (Jeff) Ackles of Hamlin NY, son Joshua (Heather) Cooper of Portland OR; eight grandchildren – Michael (Ashley) Albano, Nicole Albano, Alexandra Ackles, Emily (Sebi) Ardelean, Rachel Ackles, Isobel Cooper, Rory Cooper, Luke Cooper; two great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, the Gosnell family, and countless lifelong friends who she considered family.
Diane has gifted her body to the Anatomical Gift Program at the University of Rochester School of Medicine as a contribution to ongoing medical education. In honor of Diane’s long effort enduring metastatic breast cancer under the care and compassion of her oncologist, Dr. Dirk Bernold, please consider a donation to the American Breast Cancer Foundation or a cancer research foundation of your choice.
A celebration of life will be planned for the spring of 2024.
