Upon coming back to the states Don returned to his job at the R G &E where he worked his way up the ladder from Bill deliverer to Fuels Buyer for Rochester.

Over the years Don was very involved with the Greece Town Youth Board.

Donald was also a founding member of the Rochester Scottish Heritage Society, where he started his affliction and respect for C.H.A.S. the Children's Hospice Association of Scotland. On one of Don's trips to Scotland he was able to see firsthand the amazing things that they do for children and their families.

After his retirement Don and Janet were able to travel like they had always dreamed of. They connected with the Clan Mac Leod Society USA., which had them traveling from Nova Scotia to San Francisco and from Chicago to Texas. He enjoyed the people and traveling so much he found his way to be President of the Society. One of his favorite moments was meeting and getting to know John MacLeod the Cheif of the Clan MacLeod from Dunvegan Castle in Scotland.

One of Don's favorite places to be was out on the golf course, he always said "It doesn't matter how you shoot as long as you are out on the course"

Donald was a man that loved life and lived it to the fullest. You were an amazing husband, father, grandfather, friend and role model, and you surely will be missed.
