Doris S. Smith

Doris Streib Smith, 100 of Rochester, NY, passed away peacefully on May 3, 2022, at Hildebrandt Hospice Care Center. She was born May 28, 1921. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Robert George Smith; daughter Christine Ellen Smith Carnes and her son Douglas Michael Smith. She is survived by her son Jeffrey A. Smith and his partner Deborah L. Mix of Sarasota, FL and Bethany Beach, DE, grand-daughter Hattie Foote, her husband Chris, two great grandchildren, Lux and Hunter of Coronado, CA and several nieces and nephews.
Doris was a homemaker and worked as a teacher's aide for many years at Autumn Lane Elementary School in Greece, NY. She volunteered her time working at a food pantry, knitting hats for many worthy causes and converting books to braille.
Doris sends a fond farewell to her many friends. She was blessed with and expressed her deep gratitude to several very close friends who know who they are.
Doris was most grateful to John R. Robb, MD and his Staff for their many years of medical support and advice. Their dedication and caring approach were a critical element in her long life.
