Edmund V. Knittel

June 24, 1932 — July 2, 2021

Passed away on July 2, 2021. He is pre-deceased by his brother Robert and sister-in-law Elizabeth Montello. Survived by his wife of 67 years, Johanne (Montello) Knittel; children Donna (Terry) Tydings, Thomas (Susan) Knittel; grandchildren Ashlee (Nate) Vankouwenberg, Kyle Billings, Jordyn Billings, Sawyer (fiancé Adam Lynch) Knittel; great-grandchildren Reagan and Braedy Vankouwenberg; brother Larry Knittel of Montana; brother-in-law Sam Montello and sister-in-law Darlene Knittel; several nieces and nephews.

Ed was an avid outdoorsman. Fly fishing was his passion and his happy place was at his cabin in the Southern Tier. He was a Navy veteran during the Korean War and a retiree of RG&E Bee Bee Station.

Calling hours will be Wednesday 4-7 at Farrell-Ryan Funeral Home, 777 Long Pond Road. Funeral mass Thursday 9:30 AM at St. Charles Borromeo Church. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Journey Home 994 Long Pond Rd, Rochester, NY 14626.
