Died October 23rd, 2023 surrounded in love by his beloved wife Arlette (Monacelli), daughter Noël (Jason McCall), and son Devon Williams. Ed is also survived by his brothers Richard, Donald (Sandy), Bruce (Mary), sister Dorothy (Don Meeder); 17 nephews and nieces; 35 great nephews and nieces; 5 great-great nephews and nieces.
Ed was active in School and Boy Scout activities while growing up in his small village in western New York. He attended Alfred State College for Construction Technology.
Ed was a proud United States Marine Corps Veteran who served in Vietnam. He was a very active member of Vietnam Veterans Chapter 20, facilitating and assisting in many service functions. He was Commander of the American Legion Greece memorial Post 206 for 6 years.
Ed worked for 9 Consulting Engineering Firms from 1965 through 2012 within New York, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Rhode Island and Virginia as an inspector of highways, streets, bridges, tunnels, airports and railroads on Federal, State, Thruway, County, City and Town construction projects. After retirement Ed volunteered for many years in the Meals on Wheels program.
During their 50 years of marriage he and Arlette enjoyed traveling extensively within the USA, and internationally. Their travels together began immediately after their marriage in 1972 with a 3 month travel trailer trip to most of the states east of the Mississippi River.
He was quietly strong, righteously moral, but never judgmental. Practical to his core, embarrassed by praise or thanks, and imbued with a wicked sense humor. He loved fiercely, but quietly. And he will be dearly missed by those that love him.
