Emily Janet Biron Morante

October 7th, 1926 – April 3rd, 2019.

Born in Benson, NY. Predeceased by her husband Nicholas, parents Arclous and Dorris Fraiser Biron, sister Margaret and brother Millard.

Survived by daughter and son-in-law Molly Dee and John Jardas, son and daughter-in-law David and Sharon Morante; grandchildren Matthew, Jillian (Tammi), Jeffery, Rebekah (Eric), Nicole, Jonathan (Marianne), Jason (Marrisa); great-grandchildren Luca, Devin Leigh Anne, Emilia, and Elliot; Brother-in-law Robert (Wanda) and sister-in law Lucy; nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great -nephews and many dear friends.

Emily was raised in Gloversville, NY and moved to Rochester in 1944. She graduated from RIT as one of the first women with a degree in Chemistry. She married Nick in 1952 and was married 59 years until his passing. Emily worked at Olin Chemical for 30 years. Prior to retirement she enjoyed hosting many neighborhood get togethers on Fairview Court. After retirement, Emily and Nick enjoyed their Chalet in Prattsburg, N.Y, snowbirding in Florida and traveling the country attending U.S. Navy memorials and reunions. She will be dearly missed by those who loved and cared for her.

Friends may call 1-4PM Saturday April 6th at Farrell-Ryan Funeral Home, 777 Long Pond Rd. A Prayer Service will be conducted at the Funeral Home immediately following her visitation. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family. The family would like to extend a special heartfelt thank you to the nursing staff at Atria Greece and Latta Road Nursing Home who took exceptional care of Emily. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or Association for the Blind and Visual Impaired.
