Estella D. Jones

Estella (Stewart) Jones passed away on September 18, 2024, she was 91 years old. Predeceased by her toddler son Kent. Survived by her husband of 68 years-Howard, daughters Cindy (Jim Dykes), Wendy (Keith Rockcastle), Amy (Bryan Pelkey) and granddaughter Mary Rockcastle. Also survived by her brother Roger Stewart (Nicole) and her many nieces and nephews.

Estella worked for Wolfe Newspapers in the 1970’s as a writer and editor. In the late 80’s and 90’s she partnered with her husband Howard in relocation real estate. They shared a passion for helping families from out of the area find homes and build lives in Rochester and surrounding areas. Estella loved music and played the string bass in the Greece Community Orchestra for many years.

Upon retirement, Estella and Howard enjoyed summers in Maine (Boothbay Harbor) and winters in Florida (Bonita Springs). More recently she enjoyed shopping, brunch with her daughters and granddaughter and playing cards with friends. Estella was known for making delicious holiday pies and cookies.

We want to thank Hildebrandt Hospice and Mt.Carmel House for their care and comfort during Estella’s final weeks.

Calling hours will be held 11AM-1PM Sunday October 6th at Farrell-Ryan Funeral & Cremation Services.  A Celebration of Estella's Life will be held for friends and family after the calling hours from 2-4 at the Rochester Yacht Club. 

In Estella’s memory, donations may be made to Hildebrandt Hospice Care Center and Mt. Carmel House.
