Frederick Sarkis Jr.

Fred passed away peacefully on August 22, 2023, at the age of 90.

Predeceased by his wife Mary Jane Sarkis; his parents, Fred and Julia Sarkis; sister, Aileen Sarkis; brother, Marshall Sarkis; mother of his children, Mary Sarkis.

Fred is survived by his children, Denise (Helen Lombardo) Sarkis, Thomas Sarkis, Julie (Robert) McCulloch, Richard Sarkis; step-children Kathleen (Robert) Campo, Paula (Gerald) Cirincione, Jamie Kelley, John (Michele) Fazio; grandchildren, Nicolas (Christa) Sarkis, Cody Sarkis, Jay Sarkis, Caitlin McCulloch, Shannon McCulloch, Reno (Jennifer) Quinzi, Jennifer (Tommaso) Vario, Nicole (Travis) Packer, Alyssa (Chase) Kuhl, James Campo, Anthony Campo, Alexa (Austin) Putnam, Justin Fazio, Rachel Kelley, Amy Kelley; 8 great grandchildren; special nephew and niece, Ralph and Elaine Sarkis; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.

Fred was a veteran and served honorably in the US Marine Corp during the Korean conflict. After his service, Fred enjoyed a 23-year career with the Rochester Police Department, retiring as a Detective. After retirement, Fred with Mary Jane became the owners and operators of Upstate New York Trucking and Truck Training. Lastly for his final retirement, Fred established FAS Woodworking.

Fred, known to many as "Uncle Fred," was devoted to his family and friends, and dedicated to the community in which he lived. Fred had great faith and was a council member of his parish, St. Nicholas Church. Fred was knowledgeable and enthusiastic about his lifelong talent of woodworking, often teaching others his craft.

Family and friends are invited to call on Sunday, August 27th from 2-5pm at Farrell-Ryan Funeral & Cremation Services, 777 Long Pond Road. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, August 28th at 10am at St. Nicholas Church, 1492 Spencerport Road, Rochester. Entombment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
