Greece: George passed away on Nov. 11 at age 64 after a short illness. The son of the late Rev. George F. and Betty Haag, George is survived by his loving wife, Ann Marie; beloved son and daughter-in-law George Andrew and Lisa; brothers Richard (Karen), John (Mary Ellen) and Bill (Kathy); and many nephews and nieces.
George was a devoted father and husband who put God and family first. A member of Our Mother of Sorrows Parish, George helped lead Boy Scout Troop 130 for almost two decades. He loved camping and the outdoors; traveling with Ann Marie; and golfing, especially with George Andrew. George fulfilled a lifelong dream in 2013 when he and Ann Marie visited the Holy Land and Egypt.
George graduated from West Irondequoit High in 1968 and SUNY Buffalo in 1975. He retired earlier this year from MetLife, where he was a financial service representative for 25 years.
Friends may call Friday 4-7PM at the Funeral Home, 777 Long Pond Rd. (between English and Latta). Funeral Mass 9:30AM Saturday at Our Mother of Sorrows Church. Donations may be made to Troop 130, 121 Kencrest Dr., Rochester, NY 14606.
