Gerald Abel

Loving brother & friend passed away peacefully on December 30, 2023 surrounded by his family. Predeceased by his parents Ralph & Margaret, and sister Carole Lambert. Survived by his siblings William (Nancy Ruprecht) of OH, Thomas, Barbara (James) Cannan of IL, James (Joanne); brother-in-law Robert Lambert; nieces and nephews Timothy, Michael, & Peter Lambert, Geoffrey Abel, Rebecca Abel-Kennedy, Mark Abel, Cindy Mack, Pamela Abel, Jacyln Conlon, Matthew & Mark Cannan, Megan Jones; several cousins, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Gerald was a graduate of Aquinas and RIT and a longtime member at Ridgemont Country Club. He worked for many years at Allstate Insurance Company in Chicago, IL. The family would like to thank the staff at the Strong Memorial Hospital Trauma Unit for their care and compassion. 

Calling hours will be held 4-7 PM Tuesday, January 2 at Farrell-Ryan Funeral & Cremation Services. Funeral mass 10:30 AM Wednesday, January 3 at Holy Cross Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Aquinas Institute- Abel Family Scholarship Fund.
