Giselle Amelia DeLorme passed away unexpectedly and peacefully in her sleep on August 30, 2024, just 6 days short of her 10th birthday. She is survived by her loving parents Robert and Angelique DeLorme and her twin brother, younger by 2 minutes, Robert III( her Bubby); fraternal grandparents Robert and Donna DeLorme; maternal grandparents Thomas Stagnitto and Kandi Aldrich; uncle Thomas Stagnitto Jr; many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and teammates.
Giselle was assuredly, an angel on Earth. She was the pride and passion of her family. There was not a day that went by that she didn’t receive and give out an abundance of love. Her family spent every day together. Everyday the twins were woken up by their parents or grandparents, in their own loving home and never spent a day in daycare. Gigi and Robby never took a school bus because they were brought to school by their dedicated grandparents, and picked up by their dad, who arrived 50 minutes early to pick up, because he wanted them to see that he was the first person there to get them. Rob waited patiently to pick up his children, because he missed them while they were at school. Each evening the family ate dinner together, at the kitchen table, talking and watching movies. Each night the children went to bed, after saying their prayers and having a good night cuddle. Giselle loved to say her nightly prayers with her mommy and always wanted to say the Our Father. She always wanted to make sure that she said the words perfect. As a family, they traveled to all of Giselle's gymnastics competitions and Robby's lacrosse tournaments. The twins were so happy to cheer for each other, and they were each others biggest cheerleader and best friend. Rob and Angie made sure that Gigi and Robby were able to pursue every passion, explore every option and live out any goal imaginable. Giselle loved so deeply, because she was loved deeply by her parents, twin brother, grandparents, many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and teammates.
Giselle truly had a heart of gold that was shown in every area of her life. She showed love and kindness to any person that she met. She won several awards at school and at her gym for showing kindness, building others up, and making people feel loved and included. In her short 10 years, she truly showed the world that big and intense love can be shown to everyone and that kindness is not just an attribute, but a way of life. Giselle had a spunky side and loved to be silly with her family, friends and coaches. She loved to make silly videos, dance, sing, and be a vibrant 10 year old girl. Giselle was brave, courageous and confident in herself and her abilities.
Giselle worked hard and excelled in every area of her life. At school she was a model citizen and an excellent student. She was self driven, motivated and enjoyed earning good grades and completing quality work. She always wanted to her very best. She was so excited to join chorus and band in 4th grade. She worked so hard in band that she was very quickly invited to join the 5th grade band. She learned songs that were meant for middle schoolers. She went to school early everyday for several months to prepare for both the 4th and 5th grade concerts and competitions. She woke up happily to prepare for her day and practice her music.
Giselle was a beautiful gymnast. She was on the Junior Olympic Level 6 Compulsory Team at the Victors Gymnastics. She dedicated all of her time, year round to practice. She attended practice all summer long, often missing pool parties, Cousin Tuesdays, fun days and other events. She was eager to get to practice everyday to work hard and master her skills. Her bedroom is full of metals and trophies that denote her perseverance. Her teammates were more than friends, they were her sisters. While they were together four hours every day, they often spent hours together after practices and on weekends. They talked on the phone all the time and made fun videos together. Giselle loved her girlies so much. She loved her friends and was their biggest cheerleader.
Giselle also played lacrosse for four years, often at the same time as competing in gymnastics. She loved lacrosse and was asked several times to play up to the next level. She was so excited and eagerly took on the challenge. She was so proud of herself for working hard and kicking butt on the field.
The DeLorme family would like to express their most sincere thanks to so many people. There is no way to name all of the people and organizations that have reached out to show their love and support to their family in this time of devastation. Thank you to all the people that have driven by and said a prayer in the silence of their hearts. Thank you to all the people that have come from the neighborhood to drop off food or drinks and offer condolences. Thank you to people for walking up and offering a prayer and a moment of their time. Thank you to the many people who have poured out their love by spending time to hold hands, offer advice, share a beautiful memory, cry their hearts out, help to feel the love that Gigi would have shown others. Thank you for giving Robby love and time and helping him to heal from an unbearable situation. Thank you to the people who have given, so generously, to allow their family to not worry about paying for a funeral, as they are mourning the biggest tragedy of their lives. There are not enough words of thanks to show all of the love that people have shown. You all have shown the world, not just the DeLorme family, that good does exist, and that love for people is real and special. We all must live in love and kindness the way that Gigi spent her 9 years, 11 months and 25 days. God bless all of you and thank you!
