While teaching, Jack continued his education at Brockport and earned a master’s degree and many credit hours beyond. Their son John was born in 1956 and son James was born in 1957. In 1958, Jack, Jan and their boys moved to 238 Almay Road in Greece. In 1958, he and Jan joined Bethany Presbyterian Church. He remained an active member as a Sunday school teacher and deacon. He and Jan also joined the young couples group at Bethany called “Shipmates” which for more than sixty years gave them many wonderful friends and happy experiences. In 1973, he changed schools from Barnard to Lakeshore Elementary School. In 1978, he and Jan moved to 161 Luddington Lane in Greece, where they became friends with some great neighbors. In 1991 he and Jan both retired from Greece Central. For more than 30 years after their retirement, they were blessed with good health and experiences with family and friends.
