Jay Turzillo

Chili: Jay passed into the arms of our Lord November 16, 2014 surrounded by love at 61 years young. Predeceased by his father, William. He is survived by his devoted wife and best friend of 35 years, Gail (Knowles), who he shared a birthday with. He will be sadly missed by his mother, Laura Turzillo; sister and brother-in-law, Denise & Joseph Schnur; niece, Lynne (Derek) Collum; nephew, Thomas Maira; their mother, Cheryl; and adoring great nephew, Ethan Collum. Also survived by his extensive family of friends, aunt & several cousins. Jay retired as a Senior Probation Officer from Monroe County Probation in 2008. Jay met the challenges of 2 cancers with indomitable spirit & strength & through faith, family and friends. Cancer did not define Jay, he lived life on his own terms. Exceptional, compassionate & humane care was provided by Hildebrandt Hospice Care Center and the community of caregivers & staff at Lipson Cancer Center & the BMT Unit of Wilmot Cancer Center.



Friends may call Friday 2-7 at the funeral home, 777 Long Pond Road (between English & Latta). Funeral Mass, 10:30 Saturday at Sacred Heart Cathedral. Jay's final earthly resting place will be in Tucson, AZ.
