Jean Ann Lipary

Jean Lipary, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister passed away peacefully in her sleep on December 28, 2023, at the age of 92.

Born in Rochester, New York, on June 16, 1931, to Abraham and Anna Cerquone, Jean graduated from the Rochester Business Institute and married Angelo Lipary in 1952. They had three children together, Donald, Michael, and Maryann.

Jean began her career as an administrative assistant for an insurance company. She became a full-time mother a few years after the birth of her first son. When her children were older, she rejoined the workforce in the medical records department of Rochester General Hospital. After retirement, she moved to Cary, North Carolina to be close to her daughter and granddaughters. Jean was a resident of Jordan Oaks Senior Living Community and grew to love the residents and staff who cared for her.

Jean was a devoted wife and mother. She always put her family first and was always there for her children and grandchildren. She was a loving and caring person who always had a smile on her face.

An avid reader, particularly drawn to Danielle Steel's novels, Jean also found solace in daily outdoor walks and the unwavering strength of her Roman Catholic faith.

Jean will be deeply missed by her family and friends. She was a selfless, compassionate woman who touched the lives of everyone she met.

Jean is predeceased by her sister Carol Perez. She leaves behind her sister, Mary Lou Lettau, children, Donald and Leslie Lipari, Michael and Marie Lipary, and Maryann and Andy Hiscock, four grandchildren, Jonathan, Dominic, Jenna, Carleigh, four great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

A wake will be held at Farrell-Ryan Funeral Home, 777 Long Pond Rd, Rochester, NY on Friday, January 5, 2024 from 4-7pm. The funeral service will be held at St. Margaret Mary Church in Irondequoit, NY on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
