John P. Wasula, age 80, husband to Ann Wasula of Rochester, passed away on Sunday, March 09, 2025.
John was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He taught his children and grandchildren many life lessons to achieve happiness and success. His grandchildren adored him and loved all his stories that he would share. He was understanding, patient and most of all had a sense of humor that was truly one of a kind.
Born on October 01, 1944, in Rothenburg ob der Tauber, Germany, John was the youngest of two children to the late John and Emily Wasula. Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sister, Ann Kawola. John is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Ann, and their three beautiful children: John Wasula, Shannon (Mike) Evans, and Keith (Emily) Wasula. Together they were blessed with six grandchildren: Samantha and Joshua Wasula, Braelyn and Carter Evans, Kaden and Kason Wasula.
John proudly attended Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) and earned his bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering in 1968. He dedicated 27 years of hard work and commitment to Eastman Kodak Company, where he built lasting friendships and made an impact before enjoying his well deserved retirement. Even after retirement, John continued to capture photographs and videos of his beloved family and friends. John was also an active parishioner of Sacred Heart Cathedral for over 40 years.
The family will have a private gathering to celebrate John's life. The family sincerely would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at Highland Hospital for their invaluable care for John during his hospitalization.
