We lost another good one. Joe was a kind, humble, thoughtful, faithful and easy-going man who loved his family. He made a miraculous, full recovery from a brain injury that he suffered in 2021. He was hospitalized for months, and worked hard to regain his strength. He could not have recovered without the dedication and support of his mother and brothers and his doctors. He was anxious to get back to his job at the USPS. He really liked his job and his co-workers!

He was a star athlete in his day, especially in soccer - first at Aquinas, and then at St. Bonaventure University. He is in SBU's sports Hall of Fame for his soccer exploits there, and is still the all-time leader scorer at the school. He avidly followed the ups-and-downs of his beloved Bonnies on the basketball court.

We are so thankful he was home this year for the holidays. He loved shopping for his brothers and sisters-in-law, but we think he especially loved choosing unique gifts for all of his nieces and nephews. He never asked for the kids wish lists, instead, giving so much thought into what he chose for each of them. It comforts us to know he was able to enjoy Christmas shopping this year. Unfortunately, he suffered another brain injury on Tuesday and there would be no miracle this time. Godspeed Joe. We hope you get to have some beers with Dad and Matt, and keep watching those soccer games and basketball games. ❤️
