Josephine F. Pellicano

February 6, 1931 — March 25, 2021

Rochester, NY/Troy, MI - Age 90, previously of Rochester NY, passed away on March 25, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. Josephine is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 68 years, Joseph. Together they have four children: Charlene (Alan) Trick, Kathy Pellicano, William (Tracy) Pellicano and Jodi (Charles) Schirtz. Josephine was blessed with 12 grandchildren, their wonderful spouses, and 16 great grandchildren, all who she "loved to the moon and back!" Josephine is also survived by her sister Rosemary (Philip) Mordenga, brothers and sisters-in-law, John Pellicano, Carman (George) Pritchard, William (Mary Kaye) Pellicano, Rosina (Filippo) Panella and Maria (Antonio) Panella, several nieces, nephews, cousins and her dearest friend Alice Brendel. She is predeceased by her parents Saverio and Grace Monachino, brother Frank Monachino, sister Mary Pilato, and sister-in-law Freda Magnotta. Her legacy is a lifetime of service to all, whether it be her family, friends, church, community, or anyone she met. Jo devoted her entire life to helping everyone even during her high school years while battling tuberculosis. Jo's career spanned many years working as an administrator for several doctors and surgeons while at the same time offering family conferences with the patients before those life-threatening surgeries. Throughout her life Jo served as a Lector, Eucharistic Minister and heartfelt Patient Advocate. In her recent years she also led a Positive Living Program for many of her friends. She was a devout Catholic and never expected anything from anyone though was always there for others. Jo created a memory book for her children and grandchildren about her life and her loving husband's life. Why - because this was a love story of 68 blessed years for Jo and Joe's marriage, a relationship defined by nothing more than their true love and devotion for one another. They were a match made in heaven and their love story will never end. Her loving and compassionate heart, her positive outlook on life brought happiness and a calming peace to everyone. In her words, "love conquers all." The family will receive friends at Farrell-Ryan Funeral Home, 777 Long Pond Road, Rochester NY on Wednesday April 7 from 3-7 PM. A private funeral will be held in celebration of her life on Thursday. She will be laid to rest at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Josephine would appreciate a donation to the St. Jude's Children's Hospital or Tunnel to Towers Foundation in her memory.
