Judith A. Mercel

Passed away December 18, 2022 at the age of 81. She is predeceased by her husband James; parents Richard and Mary Curley; brothers Richard, Bruce, Paul, Joe and sister Dolly. Survived by her sons James, Jeff (Anna Ortt); brother Gordon (Celeste) Curley; sister-in-law Lois Metzger; cousin Joyce Shabot and a vast extended family.

Judy was a devoted wife of 43 years, a loving mother and a fiercely loyal friend to many. She was a longtime parishioner at St. Lawrence Roman Catholic Church, where she cherished her time singing in the choir and her numerous friendships. She enjoyed a decades-long career that started at age 18 in New York City and included years of dedicated service at Heinrich Chevrolet, Wegmans and lastly at Wilmorite, from which she retired just a few years ago. Judy was a natural care-giver and always quick to lend a hand to others. She was an avid supporter of the need for a hospice facility in Spencerport and instrumental in the founding and operation of Aurora House, where she served as volunteer and board member for many years.

Friends may call January 9th 4pm-6pm at Farrell-Ryan Funeral and Cremation Services 777 Long Pond Road. Funeral mass January 10th, 9:30am at St. Lawrence Church, 1000 North Greece Road. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Aurora House, 2495 South Union Street Spencerport, NY 14559.
