Karen A. Havens

Karen was born September 2nd, 1961 in Rochester, NY to her loving and adoring parents, Richard and Georgina May (Millett) Havens. Karen passed away very suddenly after a routine surgery on Wednesday, April 7, 2021. Karen is survived by her parents, Richard Charles and Georgina May Havens, son, Ryan Mark Snyder, father of Ryan and best friend, Mark Snyder, sisters and brother, Kristine DiStefano (Tim), Paul (Kathy) Havens and Kelly (Steve) Schiffhauer, loving nieces and nephews, Amanda and Allison DiStefano, George and Justan Havens, Kristina, Matthew, and Jessica Grace Schiffhauer, great niece, Madilyn Woodley along with several loving aunts, cousins, dear friends and her beloved dog, Oreo.

Karen graduated from Greece Arcadia High School in 1979 where she met many dear friends that she held dear to her heart. Karen attended The Robert Morris University in Pittsburgh, PA after graduation where she studied to be a travel agent. Karen spent the first part of her career working as an accomplished travel agent at Sibley’s Travel, Rosenbluth and AAA which she loved. Her career afforded her the opportunity to travel extensively. Most recently, Karen worked as a customer service representative for Staples for 17 years. Karen loved country music, soap operas and a late-night movie.

Karen always went out of way to bring the ‘perfect’ birthday card with the right words to let you know how much she cared. Karen was known for her love, compassionate heart and loyalty to her friends and family. We are heartbroken and will truly miss Karen for the rest of our days but will always cherish her memory in our hearts.

The family will receive friends and family for calling hours at Farrell Ryan Funeral Home, Thursday, April 15, 2021 from 4-7 PM with a Catholic Mass at Holy Cross Church at 4492 Lake Ave on Friday, April 16, 2021 10:30 AM with a Christian burial at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery to follow.
