Lena Parisi
Greece - June 8, 2018 at age 94. In 1946 Lee received her RN after graduating from Park Avenue School of Nursing through the U.S. Cadet Nurse Corps. She met her husband of 58 years, Philip C Parisi, and after a whirlwind courtship they were married. Phil and Lee had three children: Judy (Stefan) Perkowski, Philip L Parisi (Gilda), and Jane (Tom) Walpole. She began working as a school nurse in 1960 at Our Mother of Sorrows School and then after completing her BA Degree, Lee became a school nurse teacher at Klem North Elementary School in Webster until her retirement in 1982. She loved her career so much, she often remarked she would have done it for free. She was active in the NYS Retired Teachers organization, and participated in their hiking, craft and book clubs.
After her retirement, she cherished the times spent with her grandchildren: Jennifer and David Perkowski, Paul, Mark and Allison Parisi, and Dan and Kate Walpole. Lee also enjoyed traveling and toured Italy and many places in the United States. Lee cared, devotedly, for her husband throughout their marriage, particularly during his last 10 years of his life when he was affected by dementia.
Lee is predeceased by her husband, her brother Joseph Russo, her sister Mildred Sidoti, and her granddaughter Jennifer Perkowski.
Lee will be lovingly remembered as a strong, caring person and good friend to many who knew her.
