After Peg and Jake married in Boston in 1947, she moved to Rochester but never lost her Boston accent. She volunteered throughout her life starting in Boston delivering food baskets with her mother to the jobless during the depression and continued volunteering in Rochester. Peg was a Girl Scout leader, worked on the Red Cross Blood drives, was active in the Mother of Sorrows Women's Club and Cardinal Mooney High School Women's Guild, typed Braille books for the blind, delivered Meals on Wheels and in her later years volunteered at the Tina Wilson Center. Peg was a champion jitterbugger, poetry writer, loved to golf, enjoyed playing games and cards especially with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She never lost her sense of humor.

Peg was a long-time member of Mother of Sorrows parish, two-time breast cancer survivor and the life of the party. Peg will be missed by many family and friends.

The family would like to send a special thank you to the wonderful staff at Crimson Ridge Meadows in Greece for their outstanding love, care and support over the past five years, encouraging Mom to sing and partake in activities. They would also like to thank the Hospice Team and nurses on floor 4400 at Unity Hospital for her comforting care during her stay. You were all much appreciated.

Family and friends may call from 3-7 p.m. on Monday, October 9 at Farrell Ryan Funeral Home, 777 Long Pond Rd. Her funeral Mass will be celebrated at Mother of Sorrows Church, 5000 Mt.
