Nancy Knott

Greece - Nancy Ann Knott, 91 passed away peacefully at home on January 4, 2022. Born in Syracuse New York, Nancy is predeceased by her husband of 47 years, Bud (C. Andrew Knott); brother and sister-in-law Dean and Iva Creager, brothers Donald Creager, and Lance Klinger, niece Karen Solum, nephews Robert Creager and Terrence Creager. She is survived by daughters Vicki (Glenn) Bodman, Jill Knott, sister-in-law Patricia Creager, and many beloved nieces and nephews in both the United States and Canada.


Nancy graduated high school in Lyons, New York, attending the University of Rochester for several semesters thereafter. During her brief employment at Kodak, she was the youngest female awarded managerial oversight of a laboratory until she left the workforce to raise her family. She was a voracious reader throughout her life, remarkably intelligent and knowledgeable, thus earning her a nickname, "the Oracle" as dubbed by son-in law, Glenn. Nancy was a true fan of both the Buffalo Bills and the Syracuse Orange, and a very talented painter with a passion for drawing both old barns and lighthouses. She delighted in excursions to play slot machines with her husband, brothers and their wives during their annual Las Vegas excursions. Nancy was an avid swimmer, teaching lessons at a local YMCA, coaching friends and family as well to enjoy water sports. Nancy was extraordinarily loving and kind-hearted and was an unrivaled champion of children of all ages. She had an uncommon gift for building rapport and gaining the trust of all children no matter the situation. Nancy loved her family fiercely. She is and always will be treasured by her family and friends.


A memorial service will be held 11 AM Thursday, May 26 at the Creation Chapel in White Haven Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites donations to a charity of one's choice.
