Norman Magee

Norm Magee, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on June 21, 2024. Born in Ireland, Norm’s family immigrated to Rochester, NY, when he was a child. The Magee family made their home in the 10th ward, where Norm attended Holy Rosary and Aquinas Institute, and met his wife Marianne alongside many friends.

Norm married Marianne 50 years ago, and together they built a loving family with their children Adam (Christine), Kyle (Danielle), and Erin (Aaron), as well as many cherished dogs over the years. Norm was a devoted father who worked tirelessly to care for his family, passing on his love of sports and his playful personality to his children. Norm was promoted to “Papa” to Connor, Kiernan, Clare, Cecelia, and Cahal. His love for his grandchildren was unparalleled, and he delighted in playing games of chase, makeovers, hide and seek, and teaching his shenanigans to them. Norm was the patriarch of the Magee family, which included his close relationship with his sole surviving sibling, his sister Dierdre.

Norm worked at Kodak for 31 years as a master electrician. Throughout his life, Norm always had another business, including Pat Magee’s Pub, Magee Electric, and Jo’s Diner, where he met many great people and made lasting friendships. In his early years, he was an avid pool player, and in retirement, he found a love for poker and golf, enjoying many years with a cherished group of friends.

Norm will be remembered for his kindness, sense of humor, and unwavering dedication to his family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
