Passed away peacefully on April 20, 2025 surrounded by his family at age 83. He is predeceased by his wife Louise Fleming and parents Joseph & Teresa Fleming (Gianuso). Survived by his wife Susan Hogeman; sons Mark (Suzanne) Fleming, & Michael Fleming; grandchildren Madison, Eleanor, & Giselle Fleming.
Dick was a loving father who supported his sons unconditionally and was always a reliable guidepost for how to live a positive life of value and faith. He was a second father to his daughter-in-law, Suzanne. He adored (and was adored by) his granddaughters, who each had a very ongoing relationship with him (via funny texts, pictures, etc.) despite the long distances between them. He enjoyed long and fast walks, biking, fishing, dominoes and card games, and the occasional cigar by the lake with Mike. Mostly, he valued the joy and laughs he shared with family and his myriad friends from the various circles of his life (St. Charles, Aquinas High School). His pleasures were simple and were always centered around the people he loved. When he left us, he knew it was his time and was very much at peace. He was an inspiration until the very end.
Calling hours will be held 4 - 7 PM Friday, April 25 at Farrell-Ryan Funeral & Cremation Services. Funeral mass 11:30 AM Saturday, April 26th at St. Charles Borromeo Church. Inurnment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to St. Charles Borromeo Church.
