Richard G. Briggs

Richard G. Briggs passed away June 12, 2023 at age 74. He is predeceased by parents Richard & Rita Briggs, and brother John Christopher Briggs. Survived by his wife Lucy; sons Scott and Richard M. Briggs; grandchildren Alanna Cenzi and Lillian Briggs; sister Lynn (Daniel) Condello; brother-in-law Marty (Kim) Sauerhafer; sister-in-law Lee (Michael) Cox and several nieces & nephews.

Richard was generous with his time and resources in a truly remarkable way, sharing his kindness with anyone in need. Everyone who knew him was better for it and he will be deeply missed.

He loved to read, play golf, bowl, and was an avid Yankees fan. The Greater Rochester Bridge Club was his second family. He retired from the Monroe County Department of Human Resources and was the owner of Rick’s Recycled books on Monroe Avenue for over 20 years.

A memorial service will be held by the family at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to Journey Home Hospice Care at 994 Long Pond Road Rochester, NY 12626.
