Richard Hanratty

Dr. Richard J. Hanratty passed away May 9, 2021 at The Cottages in Greece, NY. He was born on December 15, 1932 to John and Margaret (McLean) Hanratty in Rochester.

Dick is survived by his wife Madelyn Hanratty, with whom he would have shared 64 years of marriage in August, and his children Eileen (Peter) Remec, Katherine (Brian) McDermott and Daniel (Louis Nelson) Hanratty and his grandchildren Christine and Andrea Remec and Taylor and Dillon McDermott.

Dick graduated from Aquinas Institute and Holy Cross College. After receiving his Medical Degree from Jefferson Medical School in Philadelphia Dick completed his Internship and Residency at Rochester General Hospital. “Doc” as he was affectionately called by friends and patients practiced Family Medicine in Greece before he retired from private practice and joined the Occupational Medicine team at Kodak Elmgrove.

Dick enjoyed his many years at the lake where he would waterski with friends every Sunday. He introduced his children to snow skiing, he enjoyed tennis and loved to play golf. Dick’s most special times were with his friends and extended family.
