O'Grady, Richard F.

Greece: December 12, 2016. Predeceased by his parents, Anna and Frederick O'Grady and sister Marilyn. Survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Dorothy O'Grady and his children Danny O'Grady, Tim (Mary) O'Grady, Eileen (Jim) Volkmar, Mary (Mike) Pero, Chris (Lynda) O'Grady and Lt Col Terry (Michelle) O'Grady; 11 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Dick is a WWII Army veteran and was awarded a Victory Medal. After the war, Dick started a heating and air conditioning company which grew into O'Grady/McCormick Mechanical Contractors and employed 70 people. He belonged to ASHRAE, was Vice President of SMACNA and is enshrined in the ACCA Hall of Fame for his contributions to the HVAC industry.

Dick was a 50+ year member of Brook Lea Country Club and served as its President in the 1970's. He was a passionate golfer and had many close friends both on and off the course. He was also President of the TwiLight League and enjoyed Friday night Scotches and playing invitational tournaments with his son Tim.

Friends may call on December 28th from 12noon - 3pm at Farrell Ryan Funeral Home, 777 Long Pond Rd. A celebration of his life will be held after the calling hours, details TBA.
