Stewart Love

January 4, 1953 — March 30, 2024

We are deeply saddened to announce the sudden passing of Stewart Love of Greece on Saturday, March 30th, 2024. He is predeceased by his parents James & Elizbeth Love. He is survived by his children Levecca Love-Robinson (Thomas), Serge Love (Daniella Boerst) & Sarah Love, his partner of nearly 30 years Diane Schaber, her son Brett Schaber (Meagan), grandchildren Tori Zornes (Michael), Jordan Kushel, Kayla Love, Benjamin Love, Nicolas Love & Sophie Schaber, his sister Lesley Love(Jim Campbell), niece Kit(Mike) Brower, nephew Brian (Laura) Conolly & grandniece Brooklyn Conolly.

Stew was born on January 4th, 1953, in Glasgow, Scotland & moved to the US with his parents James & Betty that same year. He carried with him a strong pride in his Scottish heritage, going so far as to eat & claim to enjoy haggis, but not going so far as learning to play the bagpipes. From a young boy, he showed a highly creative spirit which extended throughout his life. He was known for his love for his family & friends, his sense of humor, which was quick & sharp, his giving nature & perhaps most for his deep passion for music. As a teenager, he found his lifelong talent & love for playing the guitar. He was a self-taught guitarist & singer-songwriter who was involved with multiple bands over several decades, most recently being Dust & Bone. Seeing Stew perform with his bandmates was to see the embodiment of pure joy & it was infectious. When he played the guitar, it allowed him the freedom to express his wild and emotional side. You always knew you were in for a great time whenever you had the honor to be present at a show of theirs. He loved stoking the flames of interest he found in others, and this made him a great tutor and mentor to many over the years. Thanks to him, his children grew up with the same love of music& he was always eager to share his latest discoveries.

In addition to his love of playing guitar, he received great enjoyment from spending time with his family & close friends, several of whom he has had since childhood. He & Diane took regular trips to tropical locales with their friends, and he had a standing breakfast date with his sister nearly every Saturday for more than 20 years. Stew was always a strong leader whether it was during his long career as a Quality Control specialist or as a friend offering a supportive ear to those seeking guidance. Stewart always offered a helping hand, and he gave more during his life than he ever took. He had a kind heart that you could rely on in times of need. He had a smile and a laugh that we will never forget, and he will be missed greatly by the many people who loved and adored him. Stewart’s soul will always play the lead as he rides the cosmic melodies of that sweet, sweet guitar riff.
