Sue Draves

Born May 18, 1940 in Dunkirk, NY, passed away peacefully into eternal rest at the Rochester Friendly Home on June 27, 2023. She had been dealing with several health issues over the past few years.

She was a graduate of Fredonia State Teachers College with a degree in music education. She went on to complete her masters in education at Nazareth College before teaching music for 35 years at Adlai E. Stevenson School #29 in the city of Rochester.

Sue was involved in several choral groups in Rochester including the Treble Clefs. She enjoyed collecting antiques, sewing, gardening, traveling, and was an avid Buffalo Bills fan.

She is survived by her dear and devoted friend Hans Gross of Rochester NY and many nieces and nephews. Christopher Draves and his wife Norma of Bridgewater, MA and Harlem, Ann Flood and her husband Mick of Taunton MA and Mairead and Michaella, Andrea Draves of Fredonia, NY and Tiffany, Jovan, Teresa, and Kaydance, Heather Mickool and her husband Ryan of Dartmouth MA, Karl Draves and his wife Nicole of Pembroke MA and Coby and Grayson.

A Funeral Mass will be held 10 AM Thursday 7/6 at St. Charles Borromeo Church. Burial in Dunkirk, NY. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the Friendly Home or a charity of your choosing.
