Eileen Medley (O'Connell)
Rochester - Eileen Medley (born June 5, 1928) slipped gently from this life into an eternity of peace on March 11, 2019. Born and raised in Rochester, Eileen returned to Rochester from Vero Beach, Florida and Arlington, Massachusetts. Formerly a resident at Legacy-Clover Blossom, Eileen lived at Legacy Cranberry Landing. She was predeceased by her parents, Isabelle and Flerence O'Connell, her twin brothers, Robert and Donald and by her beloved husband of 59 years, Richard.
Surviving are her children, Karen Medley, Mary Medley Taff, Stephen Medley (Diane) and Richard Medley (Elaine); her grandchildren, Erika Munoz, Megan Taff, Nicole Medley and Christina Medley-Lucas; as well as great-grandchildren, Isaac, Charlotte, Enzo, Madison, Brooklyn, Apollo, Kingston and Skylar. She is also survived by her sister, Sister Kathleen Mary O'Connell, RSM; and her brother and sister-in-law, Roy and Helen O'Connell.
Eileen graduated from Nazareth Academy, St. Jerome's Nursing School (Batavia) and Boston College. She was a retired Nursing Instructor and Nursing Supervisor at Symmes Hospital in Arlington, Massachusetts. She was an avid Genealogist, who loved playing bridge and bingo.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at Holy Cross Church, 4492 Lake Ave. at 10:30AM. Preceded by time to talk to the family at 10AM. Eileen's family is grateful to the staff at Rochester General Hospital, St. Ann's Community, and Legacy Cranberry Landing for their kind and compassionate care and dedication. In lieu of flowers donations may be considered for the Andrews Center (Children's Home), 123 Whittington Rd., 14609.
